Everyday life can be overwhelming and sometimes people need help coping with their problems. It may not require an overnight hospital stay, but can be serious enough that outpatient counseling is not enough. Partial hospitalization is for people who need medication management in a safe environment that promotes crisis resolution, problem solving skills, and personal growth.
The P.H.P. provides a safe, structured treatment environment during the day, allowing clients to return to their home in the afternoon. This level of care is appropriate for patients who do not require 24-hour care, but are in need of a structured treatment program. This type of care may prevent the need for hospitalization for those in crisis.
The P.H.P. may serve as a “step-down” from inpatient care back to the individual’s home and community environment, or may support the recovery process for individuals who need more structure than outpatient treatment provides.
Components of Beacon’s P.H.P. services include:
- Complete psychiatric evaluation
- Group and/or individual psychotherapy
- Medication management and education
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
- Illness Education
- Coping Skills

- Family Counseling if needed
- Community Resource Need Assessment
The Partial Hospitalization Program is covered by most major insurance companies, including Medicare (Part B). If you also have Medicare supplementary insurance, the deductible and 20 percent co-pay may also be covered. Our intake staff is available to address any concerns you may have about your specific coverage.
